About Jim Roos

Jim Roos is a Development Manager at Symantec, following its acquisition of Vontu, the leader in Data Loss Prevention. Previously, he worked for Microsoft on Windows Live Hotmail, the successor to MSN Hotmail, and as a software engineer at Alcatel and Sterling Software. He also spent several years working for Prosoft Learning where he authored numerous books on J2EE, database design, software development methodology, and Web related technologies.

When he's not combing through code, he enjoys skiing, torturing his cat, and getting repeatedly slain on Xbox Live.

Jim has a Bachelor's in Computer Science and an MBA, both from Southern Methodist Univeristy in Dallas, Texas.
